“A chilling tale of Navajo Skinwalkers, Mexican drug cartels, and a desert that buries its secrets…”
Characters from the Whiskey Series
The Bad
Meet the Whiskey Kingpin
After the completion of Hoover Dam, Amos List saw different crime families move their operations to Las Vegas. He saw opportunity in Whiskey, Arizona to provide a stopover for travelers going to Nevada. He elected himself as mayor and connected with the mafia.
His grandson, Richard List, grew to be the town bully. No one dare stand against him and his buddies.
List took over running the town. He had his hand in several businesses, some legal and some not quite so legal. He made connections with a drug cartel to traffic in guns and drugs, thus expanding the family’s illegal activities.
Meet Koko, the Foxhound.
In Whiskey Burning (the upcoming sequel to my book, Whiskey Sunrise), we are introduced to a new character.
An American Foxhound puppy, whom Rye Dawlsen’s son, Manny, names Koko. The dog is black and tan with white legs.
She was discovered in a murder house where the owners were all brutally killed…
The Good
Meet Rye Dawlsen, Police Chief of Whiskey, Arizona.
Before joining the police, Rye was in the army—a member of the Military Police to be specific. During his tours in Iran, he took part in several raids.
He eventually suffered a back injury, which slowly turned him into an alcoholic as a way to cope with the pain.
After leaving the army, Rye is hired by the corrupt mayor of Whiskey, Richard List. The reason behind the hire was Mayor List’s desire to have a police chief he can control.
However, Rye Dawlsen is not a man who can be controlled…
The Foxhound
The Wife
Meet Heidi Altermann, aka Dee
Heidi Altermann was born in Fredericksburg, Texas. Her youth was spent in the Hill County of Texas. Upon graduation, she went to Methodist University in Fayetteville, N.C. Here, she initially met Rye Dawlsen.
When he went to Iraq, she kept in contact. After he returned, they were married. Because of injuries, he started drinking. They moved to Whiskey, Arizona when he got a job there as police chief.
